
On 19th May 2009 the winners of The Environment and Energy Awards 2009 were announced at a black tie dinner as part of Sustainabilitylive! at the National Motorcyle Museum in Birmingham. The event, organised by Faversham House Group, saw the best of green industry rewarded for their initiative and environmental thinking throughout the last year.
Terra Vac won the prestigious Innovation Award for Remediation Technology 2009 for the development and use of Six Phase Heating (SPH) technology. Terra Vac (UK) have innovatively used Six-Phase (electric resistive) Heating for in situ-soil and groundwater decontamination at a former tool manufacturing site near Sheffield. There they removed over 70 times the amount of contaminants originally estimated, 3 months ahead of schedule and within budget with minimal disruption to local residents and businesses.
