Rapid removal of contaminated soils from site offering tangible 'closure' of the works. This technique can be suitable for very heavily contaminated or difficult soils where a 'quick fix' is required though disposal costs can be considerable.

Impacted soils are excavated from site and loaded onto trucks or skips for transport to a suitably licensed disposal facility. Works would normally include some form of on-site testing/validation and typically sampling from the extremities of the excavation for laboratory analysis to confirm all contamination has been removed.

Fast remediation which has benefit of complete removal of contaminants, though generally not considered sustainable.
