Installation of a non-permeable barrier to 6m below ground 'toed' into the underlying clay.

A major electronics manufacturing facility has previously caused solvent impact to an adjacent watercourse. Investigation works identified the source area within the factory site adjacent to the boundary against the watercourse. Terra Vac undertook bush clearing and cleanup of the bed of the watercourse, then reprofiling the banks of the watercourse including installation of an impermeable fusion jointed liner.
An impermeable barrier was installed to 5.5m below ground level between the identified source area and the site boundary. Groundwater rested at 3m below ground level thus a groundwater management/treatment regime was required for the works. The completed HDPE membrane/barrier was approximately 60m long.

All works undertaken in accordance with regulatory approvals throughout.

Saturated excavated silts required polymer stabilisation prior to transport from site for disposal at a licensed facility in accordance with all duty of care.
